Oct 29th 2007 8:09PM The best thing you can do is take it up with your bank or credit card provider. Tell them that you did not authorise that extra payment. LL will quickly change their procedures when they've got a few thousand chargebacks.

Just Askin' - payment problems?

Oct 17th 2007 8:16PM There's a lot of this IRL too. We usually only offer terms to customers that have a good history, otherwise it's strictly COD. In all but one case where we have chosen to offer terms to a new client we've either not been paid or only paid after considerable amounts of time and legal threats. One suggestion is to include in the contract that the cost of collecting late payments will be borne by the client.

Sep 28th 2007 8:26PM Actually I like this clause. It provides a more solid legal ground for machinima and virtual photography against copyright claims.

Aug 26th 2007 1:20PM I've spent considerable time in Singapore - having family there - and yes, the top two on the list are considered to be the national past times. The other three, in my experience anyway, seem to be what Singaporeans believe foreigners come to Singapore for (apart from the shopping and eating that is). I know that whenever I visit and I meet someone new I'm usually asked if I've visited Sentosa (yes) or eaten Durian (also yes - in fact my all-time favourite fruit plus it doubles as a melee weapon). As for the night safaris, Singaporeans are very proud of their zoo, and rightly so. Maybe the items on the list are an insight into the Singaporean psyche. Maybe this is what the good life is about to them...that and making bucketloads of money, telling off-colour jokes about Malaysians (and occasionally Indonesians) and driving really, really madly at ludicrous speeds. Personally, I love the place.

Jul 5th 2007 1:28AM I'm unfamiliar with the vagaries of US law but, if the registration fee has already been paid at a reduced rate because you are performing (making the discount effectively a payment for services rendered), wouldn’t the terms of the original point-of-sale contract be binding? Even if you chose not to sign to the release agreement? If so, then you should still be able to attend and perform. Wouldn’t the new release require additional consideration (payment) for it to be binding?
