Jun 28th 2008 5:53AM Glad to see your comment Robin. And very glad to know that no sales are pending. Now you really have our curiosity up. Just what could it be? Flat tiers? Return of First Land? Increased tier sizes? Lifetime memberships? Hmmmm.
Will Kapor bore? Rumors say sale!

Jun 25th 2008 3:54PM My guess is either allowing us to buy our own names in SL, an IPO since Mark/M has experience with IPOs or a merger with someone like HiPiHi. Didn't Philip make several trips to China last year? If it is a sales announcement, I wonder what all the whiney negative complainers will do without LL to kick around anymore. A new owner will most likely be more strict and less tolerant than LL. Perhaps our care free days are coming to an end. Unfortunately we won't know it until its too late.

Jul 19th 2007 3:49AM I guess I'm still living in the dark ages. For personal contact I use a cell phone. If they don't answer I leave a message. For business I use email. When in SL I use IM/Chat. I don't see that anything more is needed. You are missing the same warm and fuzzies that I am. Don't feel alone. {:o)
Just Askin': Where would you go tomorrow?

Jul 7th 2007 9:35AM I have an account with Entropia and Kaneva. The first is more RP than I wish, the second is more social than I wish, so I would probably split my time between the two, but spend ALL my time wishing for Second Life to return. Tat my dear bite your tongue! {:o) Seriously though, this scenario has crossed my mind. It is one I pray never happens.
An outsider's perspective - is he wrong?

Jun 25th 2007 7:10AM My home is located in West Haven within flying distance of the Public Orientation Island and the Public Help Island. Which means that a large portion of newbies end up at my front door. Early on I had put up ban lines because of the constant invasion and disruption. But then there came a point that if I couldn’t stop them, then help them, or move. So I dropped the ban lines and opened my doors. Because my FL past work experience includes some years in the tourist industry, I started treating them as out of town tourists. They are lost, need information, assistance, directions, etc. Not only has it lead to me joining the Volunteer Help Island group but I have also applied with Linden Lab to be a Volunteer or Mentor. I think it has made me a better avi and a better resident of SL. As a bonus I have made some really cool friends. I think by first treating them as tourists and taking the time to help them understand what SL is truly all about we help to turn them into Residents or Incomers. There will always be those who come in, don’t get it, and leave. And then there are those who come in and treat it as a game for their own amusement. But for the rest of them I plan to take the time to help them aclimate to the coolest way of life this side of First Life.
