Aug 29th 2007 8:44AM Just to pay devil's advocate here... there have been a rash of articles saying much the same thing about SL lately. The community response is invariably that the reporters are not giving SL a chance, or enough time, or trying it out more. Could the same not be said here as well?

Jul 27th 2007 12:43AM Just to help clear things up, after careful review the policy says NOTHING about having to pay into the wagering game. Anything is considered wagering if the result is random, based on some numerical calculation or based on real sporting events AND it pays out Linden dollars, real dollars, or any object of value. To the strictest letter of this policy, sploders and raffle balls are now illegal. If you still have doubts, the safest route is to ask an actual Linden and not attempt to speculate.

Jul 26th 2007 1:59PM My problem here is that the blog clearly states that this policy has been put into place to comply with federal and state laws regarding online gambling. Fine. But then tell me where the federal or state law is that bans raffles? Or bingo? And yet this policy, if followed to the letter, will ban those things. So if the intent is to comply to federal and state laws, then why go beyond? Have they mis-worded their intent, or mis-worded their new policy? It must be one or the other.
