Linden Lab considers dropping Panther support

May 6th 2008 9:45AM I say before they drop Panther they need to fix the Leopard bugs. I am currently refusing to log on due to a bug that causes Leopard to crash upon quitting the Second Life viewer.

Apr 16th 2008 6:00PM When I first saw this I thought someone had gotten creative with spam. Rather than bombard residents with annoying, self-replicating objects, why not have avartar communications trigger annoying spam. Don't want to see it? Don't talk. I am both glad and sad that this is not the latest tool of spammers and griefers. Thanks for the info!

Say, could I make a request? How about replacing the Massively green dot icon with something more Stargate-ish, just so that people know what they are looking at at a glance?

Jan 25th 2008 3:49PM Not all sci-fis are "shiny" as you put it. One of the best examples, although not an MMO, is Half-Life 2. Yes, everything is towering and impressive, but at the same time below the shiny surface, you see destruction and urban decay as the antagonists slowly but surely destroy and absorb humanity.

Dec 13th 2007 12:34PM Come on people! When will they get it through their heads?

If a kid tries to shove a tricycle up their nose, people don't blame the tricycle, they blame the parents for not watching their kids. But when a kid starts using a video game to excess, they do not blame the parents who should be watching. Oh no, that would make too much sense. They blame the video game.

Wake up people! You are ultimately responsible for how your kid turns out. Use some common sense. Buy them age appropriate video games. A five year old has no business playing Halo or Half-Life. The even more important rule is keep tabs on them and their playing habits, just like you should be watching them when they play outside.

Do not blame video games. You bought the game for your child, you allowed them to play it in excess. When someone gets murdered, the DA does not go after the gun manufacturer.
