Recovery Pen: All Good Things Must Come to an End
Blogging New Orleans
Sep 18th 2007 2:33PM Just wanted to add another positive note to the letter "A" which to many of us stands for ART. This Sat. 9/22 several artists who have studios at the nicely recovering ArtEgg Studios are hosting an open-studio event and all are welcome. Hope you can join us!Here's the skinny:
ArtEgg Open-Studios - Saturday, September 22, 2007 from 10:30am – 1:00pm
Location: 1001 S. Broad Street, New Orleans, LA
Directions from your location to ArtEgg may be found at http://www.mapquest.com
The following artists will be opening their studios to the public for a rare opportunity to view artworks in progress and meet with the artists in person to discuss their work and learn about local contemporary art in New Orleans.
Andre Downin – fine art photography
Tony Nozero – paintings
Tony will be displaying many recent acrylic paintings on canvas, wood and paper. His current work which has been described as vast and intuitive follows his major accomplishments as a musician and drummer in the former band Drums and Tuba.
Melissa Roberts – mixed-media art
Melissa will be displaying recent works from her Convergent Media series where traditional painting and digital media join to create the final outcome of each piece in the series. Selected giclée prints from other mixed-media series will also be on display.
Kurt Schlough – sculptural paintings
Kurt will display a wide range of artistic media including oil and acrylic paintings, figural sculptures and his most recent series of sculptural paintings. Several of the works on view during this open-studio have never been previously on exhibit in New Orleans.
