Bushites, You Still Don't Get It... You Lost
AOL Elections Blog
Nov 12th 2006 7:07PM Regardless of the Bush-lead gofers with all their money and whiteness there are two hugely critical historic events they overlooked: the Crusades and Viet Nam. Historically the Christians charged into the Middle East to fight the un-christian. They lost on too many occasions. Viet Nam was a charge to prevent communism from spreading to the shores of America. The losses here are staggering. Somehow I have this sinking and sad feeling that Bush-lead gofers never read their high school history books let alone understand why the study is important for our national leaders. I guess they did not have enough money in their multi-million dollar bank accounts. "Staying the course" is so close to American foreign policy in all of our many failed and irrational invastions. When Bush landed on that aircraft carried claiming the mission has been accomplished that was before nearly 2,000 some of America's best lost their lives for his folly. I pray we have a new president in 2007. Then we can elect another president in 2008 who has read and understands history.

The World Will Be A Better Place

Nov 10th 2006 12:58AM I remember the lost cause of the Korean War. The even more lost cause of the Viet Nam War. There was Grenada, Nicaragua, Panama, Somalia and Iraq. These cross party lines in America. In those nations they killed thousands of women and children. War kills! Forget politics and look to a person who is a statesperson. A human who values the dignity of life and the intellectual, medical and moral benefits of stem cell resarch - a human who knows that the Christians lost the numerous Crusades - a human who knows that global warming is not an idle threat but a real promise - a human who knows that justice is achieved through dialog not being bellicose - a human who respects that women have the right to determine what is best for their body - a human who speaks more than one language - a human who knows that love, honor and integrity is far more than defining marriage as only between a man and a woman - a human who is not guided by inherited wealth and blind ignorance and a human who loves this planet and its future not a humanoid who fears their neighbor.

Blogging New Orleans
Apr 30th 2006 11:47PM I had the incredible fortune to have lived and worked in New Orleans from 1968 to 1971 when I taught school. I returned in 1974 and lived there until 1980. It is like no other city on earth with its foods, dialects, cheap-ass tourist joints and its unbelievable dining and unique cultural offerings. The Jazz and Heritage Festival offers a view of New Orleans which is real and unfettered by cheap beads and plastic doubloons. I do remember the Carnival Parades when they marched up and down in the French Quarter with the Flambeaus leading the way. New Orleans changed then and it will change again but history will be kind to this great lady of the America's and hopefully will not forgive the idiots who ignorned her greatness in the times of political stupidity, disaster, and oil payoffs in favor of humanity. Resurrect this great city of ours and thank you for the Jazz and Heritage Festival - greatness lives.
