A Fishbowl Exhibit Teaches About Women's Issues
Second Life Insider
Oct 9th 2007 3:28AM Yay! So glad that you covered Strawberry's newest creative endeavor. I think it's a wonderful experiment. Where else but in SL could you actually let people go INTO one of your paintings?
I can see why people might compare this installation to Robbie Dingo's starry night video. Strawberry does have a sort of impressionist style and Robbie's video is still fresh in everyone's mind. But - I have been a fan of her paintings for a long time and A Fishbowl View is as close to being in one of Strawberry's paintings as I can imagine. She did a wonderful job of translating the colors, textures, feelings, and themes of her paintings into the third dimension.
I like the piece so much that I made a short video/machinima to help spread the word. You can see it here: http://www.shiny-life.com/2007/10/08/strawberry-holiday-a-fishbowl-view/
Welcome EU residents, by the way, we're charging VAT!

Sep 27th 2007 10:55PM "Will european residents in Second Life be taxed to death by Linden Labs ?!?"
I appreciate the fact that this might seem unfair to Europeans, but Linden Lab is not to blame. This is not a tax levied by LL, but an attempt to comply with local laws. Do you think that LL is going to keep this tax for themselves?
I expect we will see something similar happening in the US and other countries soon, as well. People who want to complain about this tax should complain to their elected officials.

Endorphin to change your expression?
Second Life Insider
May 3rd 2007 9:28PM This is excellent news! I discovered the Endorphin software a while back and was impressed with the way it could create realistic motion on the fly. I immediately thought to myself: "this would be perfect for SL". :) Can't wait to see if this tech makes it into the SL client.
btw - there is a few 'learning' edition of the software available for download. http://www.naturalmotion.com/ele.htm

May 2nd 2007 10:41PM I have visited Motorati several times. Great build with plenty of fun things to do and frequent events. I agree with Flipper, Pontiac has done a great job getting the residents involved - instead of just barging into the world and proclaiming, we're here!
I haven't visited most of the other sims on the list, although Rueters has a decent build and some interesting, free tools. I did visit AOL Pointe once and was glad to see that they actually provide some fun activities. The skatepark is pretty cool, the best I have seen in-world.
Just Askin': Do you have an alt and why?
Second Life Insider
Jan 3rd 2007 1:46AM I have an Alt, he's maybe 5 months old. I mostly use him to test permissions on the items that I sell, or to help test something that I am scripting.
For some reason it feels strange to be in-world as another Avatar.
Ninja Tunes karate chops Second Life

Dec 17th 2006 1:01AM I'm glad to hear that Ninja Tunes is setting up shop in SL - their roster includes some of my favorite bands and DJs. The label has a knack for showcasing quality music and musicians. Can't wait to tune in and watch some of their videos.
Coldcut (founders of the Ninja Tune label) are two of the most innovative and imaginative DJs on the planet. Check out this short documentary about their latest release, Sound Mirrors.
