Warlock changes in Beta build 8982

WOW Insider

You can bet that this will be utilized in boss fight mechanics somehow. Think warrior spank fests eating shadowflames in BWL, only you're one tank short and the boss does it only once every few minutes or during a phase change.

Sep 22nd 2008 5:23PM “Shadowbolt spam was easy mode but this new stuff is almost impossible to plan a rotation around that maxes out dmg. I'd prefer something in between.”

I’m almost positive that it was blizzard’s intention to shake up the rotation. PvE destro, hell, warlock dps in general, was always horribly mathematical and boring, pretty ironic for a class that was originally advertised as “one of the more difficult classes to play.” For all those points you spent, you didn’t really press a lot of buttons.

One way of doing this is to add procs.

Of course chaos bolt isn’t going to be top dps in all situations. If it was, it would just be shadowbolt spam 2.0. The goal here is to give you more options and shake up the monotony a little bit, not just give the spamming a different animation.

[UPDATE] Demonology 101: the Doomguard

WOW Insider

Sep 17th 2008 5:09PM You should do a section on enslavable demons!

Want your very own Pit Lord? Grab Silroth from Netherstorm. He's a 69 elite, takes up 3/4 of your screen, and is great for farming. Just be sure his health is burned down before he breaks his chains, or you're dead.

Not only that, locks can also commit suicide before the game starts and res up ahead at the graveyard.

The raid stall is more entertaining, though. ;)

Both.

While I may know a bit about economics, myself, I may pick up a book on supply and demand if I want to get an edge up on my auction house skills. The laws certainly apply.

Similarly, maybe I knew nothing about economics, but observing trends and learning how to work the auction house taught me about supply and demand.

Or maybe I have a PHD in econ, play WoW, and apply what I know to the AH.

All three can occur and I don't it's a question of what came first, the chicken or the egg, but rather, that the chicken and the egg both exist.

MMOs employ real-life skills in ways other games do not.

Wrath PvP gear hints at Arena Season 5

WOW Insider

Aug 26th 2008 7:04PM If you haven’t done it, jumping into the Arena as a fresh 70 can be a pretty intimidating, discouraging, and painful experience. I could see them tiering arena gear and making T1 extremely affordable to give newer players a leg into the competition and let them experience the arena without having to first spend 56479823 hours in BGs.
