The Sweatiest Cities in America
Gadling
Jul 5th 2007 2:33AM I too live in New Orleans, and having visited the places on the list, you will sweat more here than any of the other places!! After Katrina, with no air conditioning, I was lying down in the dark, perfectly still, and sweat was running down my face, while I was doing absolutely NOTHING. Try that for hot.
Hellmann's vs. Kraft mayonnaise: Battle of the Brands

Apr 23rd 2007 2:53AM Blue Plate is the absolute best mayonaise ever made. Come down south to New Orleans and stock up. Miracle Whip is disgusting and will ruin potato salad. Kraft will do in a pinch. If you've ever eaten in New Orleans, you would know that we are the experts in good tasting food (though not necessarily healthy!). Also pick up some CDM coffee and Deep South pickle relish!
Sleeping in Airports
Gadling
Aug 25th 2006 1:19AM 5 hours prior to leaving the Atlantic City Boardwalk for the A.C. airport I called to see if our Delta flight was cancelled. I could not see across the street b/c the fog was so bad. I was ASSURED that the flight was as scheduled, called two more times before arriving my required 2 hours prior to flight and again told that the flight was "as scheduled." Returned the rental car, got to the airport, issued tickets, did the shoe/scan thing, waited the two hours for flight but saw NO Planes coming in. Was told flight was delayed. After another hour went by, went back out to the check in to find out that the flight WAS cancelled. No more flights that evening. They want to send us to a hellport motel and fly us back out at 6AM. I tell them "no way" since its already 9PM - force them to pay for cab back to casino and pick us up for a 4pm flight the next day. Good part? Hit a couple grand that night - paid for whole trip. Still hate Delta. Would rather walk.
