Mozilla sets release date for Firefox 3: June 17

Download Squad

Jun 12th 2008 2:24PM I'm pretty sure the download site won't have the following info:

Should we uninstall v2 first?
Will the default v3 overwrite v2?
Is it recommended to keep v2 in case there problems with v3?
Can v2 be uninstalled later?
Will v3 use the same profile directory or can it be configured to use a new one and import the v2 profile in case there are problems?
Will the installation process make a backup of the existing profile?

Firefox's user base is getting big enough now that there's a significant percentage of users that are not pc literate enough to take care of technical details like the above on their own.

If v3 does not play nice with sites where v2 has no problems with, people will be lost and there'll be too much unnecessary frustration unless the v3 installation process keeps a profile backup automatically in case users need to revert to v2.

Feb 9th 2008 10:25PM Avoid this piece of $@#$ like the plague!

Shame on you DS for even mentioning this horrid software.

It took forever to install, it never loaded a single avi clip I tried to load because I had to go online and register for some kind of codec registration and after cancelling the prompt the clip would not load.

It then took forever to uninstall too. It was in an endless loop asking me to shut down programs that were closed already. Eventually it uninstalled itself but, what a hassle!

AVOID!

Auburn Beats Bama, Gets Bitten by Dog

Fanhouse NCAA Football Blog

Nov 27th 2007 11:36PM People please. First off, to the people saying "attack the dog and cop", by all means. The dog would incapacitate you in a heartbeat. These K-9's are highly trained and only attack when a threat is percieved (either visually or verbally).

A family member of mine trains these k-9s for the Air Force. Millions of dollars worth of training goes into each of these animals and most of the dogs that local police departments use are military trained k-9s. They are trained to recognize threats and will act upon them. I cannot even hug my family member without them issuing a "stand down" command.

The cop more than likely gave a release command as soon as the cop felt the dog lunge. Yes, the player was seen as a threat by the dog and it responded the way it was supposed to.

To all of you "sue everyone" people, heaven forbid an accident happen without you people freaking out. At most there should be an apology released, but no suspenions or firings should result from this.

Rock climbers don't give a hoot; they pollute

Nov 12th 2007 3:22PM @Molly the chalk improves grip, removes the sweat from your fingers so you don't slip off, etc etc

While there definitely climbers who don't take care of the environment they play in (shame on them) there are many many more practicing responsible stewardship and taking care of the areas.

Its the same as any other outdoor recreation, there are many many participants with great ethics, and there are others who couldn't give a damn. As a climber, most of us care about the land and definitely want to preserve it so that it can be used in the future.
