Go away, Fay!...

Aug 20th 2008 8:35PM The "Pit" is actually a tropical retention (usually dry) pond used to store water to A. decrease run-off reducing nearby Indian River flooding, contamination, and lower salinity, and B. help restore ground water protecting the fresh water ground "lens" near the beach. It topped out after a few more hours for the first time in over twenty years. Normally the plants are water tolerant. Wind continues at 2100 hours, but rain is reduced. Flooding will be somewhat reduced by tomorrow related to sandy soil--unless the storm does a 180 or a 540 and returns as a hurricane. Similar things have happened with one hurricane, but not with a TS that became a hurricane then returned to hit the same town again...
Wait! Is that the Guinness Record guys?

Do Not Fly Spirit Airlines...

alexrudloff.com

Aug 9th 2007 9:19PM For the markets to work, the customer must be informed as to value. Spirit hasn't done that, but this Bog has informed at least a few. I certainly would not fly Spirit Airlines if I expected to arrive anywhere as planned, nor expect to obtain help from them to do so should it be necessary. I see no reason to ridicule someone who tries to inform other potential customers of Spirits' value. It may beat hitchhiking, but not by much. I predict bankruptcy, and if I had their stock, I'd sell it.
