Joshua Bell in the subway
Mike Propst
Jul 18th 2007 12:39AM What a load of crap. The reason Joshua Bell has gotten any attention at all is because many years ago his [photo] won him a spot in People Magazine, which today would only land him in Dr. Seuss's Grinch who Stole Christmas. He is -not - among the world's best in terms of his musical skills, and what he lacks there is only compounded by his horrid personality. He is a terrible person, the result of a lifetime of mistaken indulgence by people like yourself.
I find that the people who are drawn to him and surround him are narcissistic asses as well.
No offense to you. Just letting you know that I have seen him play the violin and I have seen him just be a person, and he excels at neither. You are mistaken.

Jun 16th 2007 9:38PM It was the same way when we went to the UK last year. Real sugar makes such a big difference. Now I know I only have to go to new york to get some. But if you're a Dr. Pepper fan, the first ever plant in TX still bottles it with cane sugar according to the original recipe and sells it over the internet. Good stuff!
Creative shuffles out tiny Zen Stone

May 3rd 2007 4:38PM You say that Creative must be cutting corners by selling so cheap, but then mention Apple's fat margins on iPods. You've just given a great reason why this player may not in fact be skimping.
Apple have not only convinced the public it's ok to pay that much for a device, but also that something that costs less *must* be inferior. My Creative player has totally solid construction, a removable battery, and superior sound quality to any iPod I've ever heard (given the same headphones).
I have no reason to believe that a $40 player would be of the same quality, but the price ratio between mine and its competitor (Mini/Nano) is the same as that of the Stone to the Shuffle, so I have no reason *not* to believe that it'll be quality either.

May 3rd 2007 2:18PM I actually tried the Windows/IE version last night and really enjoyed it. Very easy, good quality, and fast. I can't wait for this to go live and work on my Mac.

Apr 25th 2007 4:33PM I'm glad plenty of people seem to agree with me about Chris Noth. CI has practically fallen off my radar altogether since every time I seem to catch it, it's a Noth episode. We get it, he's a "loose cannon."
I like Jesse Martin, and it might be the same old same old, but I just don't get tired of Sam Waterson. But for some reason, I see standard L&O on my DVR and I pass it by an awful lot... generally I expect it to be an insufferable "ripped from the headlines" episode or worse, just plain boring. I find myself enjoying TNT reruns far more.

Sandisk: please make a Sansa Connect for Rhapsody!
The Brad Hill Weblog
Apr 11th 2007 2:12PM I've been debating getting that Sansa for a while, as I too have been on Rhapsody since the dawn of time (or at least since eMusic stopped the unlimited downloads). My Creative Zen gives me plenty of problems with the DRM, though I love the player itself. But the news of the Yahoo connect player made me wonder if I should wait to see what happens.
