Review: Swing Vote

Cinematical

Aug 22nd 2008 12:08PM Saw this movie last night, including myself there was only four people in the theater, but we laughed the whole way through. Reminded me on some of my favorite typecast costner movies (tin cup, bull durham, field of dreams, late80s, early ninties stuff) and yet present a fairly unbaised viewpoint (suprisingly) with a nice underlying theme of poverty/working poor in america.

In the ned I don't think this is worth 10 bucks on a weekend, but 5 on a mon-thurs and maybe a dvd purchase in a few months most definitely.

speaking of politically overhanded, seen primary colors lately?

Mar 19th 2008 12:38PM Also make sure you check the product packaging for Phthalates, and your toys etc etc

NPR did a story on this a month or so ago and went to china to look into the factories that make kids toys and found the ones making european toys are required to not use Phthalates and make the exact same toys that the toys for usa are....

The rumors are true, an explanation

Blogging New Orleans

Sep 14th 2007 11:29AM Unfortunately we are retiring totally. I may take up podcasting again in the future, but I don't think podcasting about the city will be on the agenda. The sadness and anger the recovery is instilling in me is not a good thing, so I'll need to take a step back from some of the realities of New Orleans for a bit and just be a normal citizen and not a true member of the NOLA blogosphere.

Time for a Katrina baby boom?

Blogging New Orleans

Aug 29th 2007 6:22PM unfortunately many of the people I knew weren't settled enough to get into the disaster based boom. I didn't have health insurance after the storm, so we weren't going to. One of the couples I know wasn't married yet, another had to repair a severely flooded small business in uptown and get back on track before booming (congrats K&A).

But I also know a number of people I work with thought my wife would be well on her way after the storm and many of them were ready to be new grandparents...

A strange lack of sympathy for the 'homeless' at City Hall

Aug 8th 2007 11:45AM I forgot to add the reason why I brought up the illegals at the beginning of the the post. None of the group I saw on TV for this story was a non-american. Why is it that a group that truly earns income under the table and has no means of government support doesn't need to live on the street and another (the one in the post) is?
