Second Life Insider
Jul 27th 2006 2:34PM I to have passed through US customs, and on both occasions, have been sent into the interrogation room!
The worst part is sitting there waiting for your interview, and watching other people being interviewed and turned away, told that they're going to be sent home home on the next available flight. I watched and listened to an African girl have her interview at the desk while clinging to her baby. She was coldy told that she wasn't going to be allowed entry. She then broke down, she was totally heart broken and kept pleading with the customs officers while tears rolled down her face.
While this was going on, there were two mexicans, who had already been refused entry to the US and were sat beside me, muttering to themselves. I'm not exactly fluent in mexican, but it was pretty obvious they was thinking aloud about what they'd like to do to these customs officers, if ever given the opportunity.
My turn for interrogation came - A customs officer wanted to know more about this strange source of income that they saw on my bank statements. I then had to explain Second Life to them. Well you can imagine, It wasn't easy doing this while still hearing a varied range of mexican insults and the poor african girl sobbing behind me.
I wasn't exactly delighted when they told me that I was okay to enter the US, because I had to leave the interrogation room trying my hardest not to make eye contact with these poor people who had been refused entry.
I'd recommend that people avoid Atlanta airport at all costs! :)
God, I'm dreading the gates of heaven!
