Jan 3rd 2007 9:55AM So let me get this straight? A real life person makes and alt called an avatar in Second Life. For Second Life the avatar makes an alternative avatar. Wouldn't this be Third Life? Ouch, my head hurts.
OK, actually I have an alt for now. I'm setting up an avatar for my RL husband. He's not as into SL as I am, so I'm pre-prepping his avy before I show him around.

What do you like most about Second Life? Freedom to network, socialilze, fanticize.

Do you find yourself politically active in Second Life? Almost. I have political thoughts.

What is the most important thing you have taken away from Second Life? Its new territory to explore and exploit.

How does it differ from other forms of entertainment experiences (i.e. T.V., Movies, other Videogames, Books)? You need to be active, proactive, imaginative and social.

Do you feel that your actions in Second life have real world implications? Just a tiny bit so far.

What is the biggest limitation of Second Life? The interface and lack of search features.

Has Second Life ever influenced your life outside of the game? If so, how?Talking about it at dinner parties now.

Do you feel that real world issues are addressed and explored in Second Life? Yes. Example: Freecycling. I heard about it in SL, and now I do it in RL.

Do you feel that the Second Life experience has positive or negative real world implications? If so, what are they and how have they effected the real world? It steals away quality from my RL, but its too much fun. The positive ramifications are various and in their infancy.

Do you feel like Second Life allows for greater self expression? Yes. Just like chat does. Like floating brains in a jar.

How does the economy of Second Life affect the in-world experience? Drives change and creativity and innovation.

What are your feelings regarding possible government intervention into the virtual economies of games like Second Life? The government is just misinformed and don't understand. Its funny to watch.
