Thoughts on the Linden Prize
Massively
Jul 16th 2008 12:16AM Yeah the longer I've been in Second Life, the harder it is to like Lindel Lab's practices. Anyhoot, bitching about them won't change anything. Only thing that will spur change is to competition. Go Lively!

Jul 9th 2008 11:39PM I, for one, am glad that virtual worlds are moving forward with or without Linden Labs.

Jul 9th 2008 11:10PM I don't mind the disconnected rooms in Lively. It's not too different from the disconnected islands. Having the lands connected on mainland rarely adds any value anyways.
If Lively opens up user creation and scripting, I'll be all over it. Am I the only one that's annoyed by the lack of comparable alternatives to Second Life?

Cinemassively: Free fun with prim Puppeteer
Massively
May 30th 2008 11:47PM Hi Moo, thanks for pointing out Puppeteer. eggstasy is right, I definitely don't claim to be the first to make prim animation scripts. However, as a newbie I sure couldn't find them therefore I made one.
Since its creation, folks have made things that amazed and surprised me. There are many creative people out there that would never write a single line of code but can still benefit from an easy-to-use prim animation tool. I that's why Puppeteer is designed especially for non-scripters.
The Daily Grind: How are we doing?

May 16th 2008 10:54AM I read this blog mainly for Second Life news as well. Since I'm a gamer at heart, I do pay interest to the rest of the coverage. It does feel like Massively's marriage with gamers and Second Life's news is a bit forced. People like me who enjoys Second Life news along side with regular gamer news are probably not be majority.
However, Second Life posts especially the ones by Tateru Nino is the meat of my daily massively diet =] I too vote for an author based RSS! It pains me to miss a Tateru post.

May 2nd 2008 12:37PM Awesome news. I'm looking forward to trying this. Wings3D is starting to show it's limitations.
LSL vs Mono deathmatch

Apr 17th 2008 2:24PM Some additional clarification. This test is animating 100 linked prims. The animation is controlled by scripts contained in each of the linked prims that listen for linked messages from the root prim.
The linked message to change prim positions are broadcast from the root prim on a 2 second interval.
Therefore the interval of animation is always fixed for both. The important difference here is the speed of individual updates which is noticeably slower for Mono. At least for now =]

It's awesome how he strum enough illogical things together and formed something seemly logical and most definitely entertaining.

Jan 11th 2007 12:34PM I strongly recommend anyone who is doing business seriously in Second Life to read this letter in its entirety.
I am not a participant of Furnation, merely know of its existence. However, it is a well written letter with clear explanation and a very real example of the consequences in believing in the Linden Dollar.
We often forget that Linden Labs have absolute control over what we've invested and what we believe are entitled to as result of our investment. This letter was a much needed wakeup call for me. I will be adjusting my risk appetite and investment to better align with reality.
