Dr Bernstein only likes to reply to questions if there is $$$$ involved.
He is one of those Physicians where to him, $$ is THE MOST IMPORTANT THING!!
I would be surprised if your question is answered.

BEWARE OF CLAIMS/SUBTLE ADVERTISING AND ALL THINGS THAT SOUND "Too Good To Be True," where the ultimate goal and intent is to make a sale, rather than concern about your health!!

I do not know of any good Doctors in the Seattle area. but I do know of a very very good Instructor who teaches at a Martial Arts school there. We both had the same Master Teacher here in NYC.
You are probably your own Best Doctor Kelly wherever you choose to live.

Should you seek a dietician over a doctor?

Sep 12th 2007 10:52AM Why yes, Kelly. Your "last" Physician and I met at an interactive workshop last year on, "How to deal with the intelligent patient who has Diabetes."
We were taught how to effectively develop a snarl, snare and arrogant expression in front of a mirror.
BTW, there were many Physicians there. A very successful workshop, I would say.

Should you seek a dietician over a doctor?

Sep 11th 2007 10:56PM If you practice good eating habits that incorporate "live foods" (foods that have not been destroyed by over-cooking) as well as the addition of Neutraceuticles which are helpful to T1DM, then not only will you be a good patient, but a good Dietician and Doctor as well.
But first, you must wear a long white lab coat and practice how to look arrogant and sneer within a 15 minute span of time.

Sep 11th 2007 8:56PM Yes, it was results in $$ as being the "final decision maker" for anything. In this case, "The Diabetes Blog."
It reminds me of scenarios where corporations sacrifice quality to low costs resulting in ill health and sometimes death as in the case of using contaminated grains and wheat fillers from China and then importing the product to the USA and other countries resulting in the above crisis. This all because of "Free Trade" and "Open Markets" so that the Greedy Owner/Owners can amass more $$.
I am not against money, but I am against the scarifice of good standards and quality for the sake of $$.
As in the case of "The Diabetes Blog," 'lets substitute something that provides value/quality and accurate information for another forum where we can make more money.'
If what Allison suggests is correct.

Sep 11th 2007 1:16PM This is like the former Soviet Union that existed under Stalin and maybe still exists as well.
If a person did not like what you printed or spoke about and that person had influence because of political power or/and wealth, then you as the person would "disappear." put into a re-education camp, declared persona non-grata, forced hard labor in Siberia, force committed to a mental institution where medicines would control your thoughts and behavior or put to death.
This is an example of a decision based on the power and influence of either one person or a small group of people. That is why it is dangerous to allow one person, such as Rupert Murdoch to have control of most of the news media, which includes the Web and Time/Warner Corporation.
Many of these same people "sit" on the Boards of other corporations as well and that might include Pharmaceuticals.
A creeping form of fascism and control.
