Feb 5th 2007 4:44PM I HAD this same problem with a NVIDIA GeForce FX5500. I had tried to download the lates drivers, but that told me that the driver was not copatible with my card. I actually corrected the problem by searching the Knowledge Base under my card and they had a link in the KB for the correct NVIDIA driver version for my card. In the case of the FX5500 card, you can find the link at http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x86_96.85.html
I have been running a Beta copy of Vista for months whith a few NVIDIA based cards with SL and have had good luck. The actual release was where I had the hickup - which thankfully I could correct.
