Thought for the Day: A new view on vitamin supplements

The Cancer Blog

Mar 27th 2007 10:13PM I love the University of Pittsburgh's Alternative Medicine Clinic. When I went there, the M.D. told me to only use Twin Labs brand of vitamins...no polyglocol or other things in them. Only buy a good brand of vitamin and suppliments and you can go to the USA government's Alternative Medicine Website to get information also. So many vitamins have bad additives in them. Only buy USA made vitamins and suppliments. READ THE LABELS. Foreign glycerin could even have mad cow disease in them. Herbs work. But learn about them and get natural ones, not imported stuff. Grow them in your yard.....LEARN about healing herbs. GROW them yourself! Dandelions are good! Chemlawn kills! You can eat dandilions for your health. Stupid Chemlawn and chemicals are what will kill you.

Heart disease after Hodgkin's lymphoma treatment

The Cancer Blog

Mar 27th 2007 8:46PM My cousin had non-Hodgekins Lymphoma....I was with her during chemo...during her treatment, they started to give her the wrong dose of chemo...I caught it by reading her chart. She had radiation for someone else...they have her a radiation treatment intended for another person....she ended up having back pain for years, but wouldn't sue....she went through hell and died because she said she wouldn't go through it again, and she died of heart failure. I miss her so much. It was horrible the way she died....she went into the hospitla saying she couldn't breathe, and they didn't even tell anyone what was wrong with her and she went home for Christmas and got through it for two days and then went back to the hospital and died.
Everyone I know with this disease seems to die after they say they are cured after 5 years of no symptoms, but the still get sick and die about 15 years after the diagnosis.
She even had a needle break off during a breast biopsy and they told her to just leave it in, that it was more trouble to get it out then to just leave it in.
When you are sick, you need someone with you at all times to read your chart and make sure you are getting the correct treatment.

Microsoft releases Office 2004 11.3.3 and Office v. X for Mac 10.1.9 updates

The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)

Mar 8th 2007 12:31AM I try to download the updates. but it says it can't find the correct software to update. Is it because I have the educator's Office?
I can't use Word and it's driving me crazy. I cannot set the line spacing. Nothing works. I uninstall and reinstall the software...nothing works. Word is useless to me now and I need it badly. Why can't I adjust the line spacing. Right now it's about an inch between lines. I know how to use Word. I am not doing anything incorrectly.
After I did a clean hard drive wipe out, and reinstalled everything, my Word hasn't worked.
I REALLY need my Word.
Thank for any tips.

Merck stops cervical cancer vaccine campaign

The Cancer Blog

Feb 24th 2007 11:32AM Regarding the new cerivcal cancer drug, what always amazed me is that drugs are focused on women. For example, the birth control pill for women. No birth control pill for men. Women are the ones who get their tubes tied. Men seem to refuse to do it, always wanting the female to go through the medical process. Now a vaccine for HPV, targeted only for females. So, why not a vaccine against the HPV viruse for everyone?
The new birth control pill which is advertised which makes you only have your period for three days instead of how nature made you so you "can still have a social life" make me want to vomit when I see it on TV.
Glad to hear Merck is backing town. So many drugs women took during pregnancy have caused birth defects.
This drug could affect a whole generation and not know it till it was too late.
Maybe humans are supposed to have diseases so we can evolve and develop natural resistance to them.
Evolution has stopped with all these drugs.
I wish they would pass a law that you can't advertize pharmaceuticals on TV straight to the public.
I REALLY wish someone would do something to make a law like that.

Hitachi's RFID powder freaks us the heck out

Engadget

Feb 15th 2007 4:18PM My main concern with this chip is that when computers and things are thrown into the landfills, as any microscopic thing, it will be taken in the wind and breathed in and will be just more air pollution.
What are these people thinking?
Sorry, idiots have turned our planet into a floating nightmare, young'un's.
Ya know, my dear old grandmother when I was young used to tell me the world has been the same since the beginning of time, with horrible wars and bad things happening, but "we have Television and the radio to tell us about them now."
That was 40 years ago even before the internet.
But it's true.
War, murder, warlords, living in caves, all has had it's difficulties. However, all this new technology is supposed to IMPROVE our lives, right?
Bill Gates says his goal is to get rid of textbooks and everyone will have a notebook.
So, what happens when someone shoots the sattelites out of the sky and all the books are gone?
Back to the stone ages again.
Sometimes, I wish Bill Gates was never born, but then it would have been someone else.
Save a book.
