Nov 19th 2007 11:11AM I've seen a lot of campaign commercials but this is hands down the most rad commercial ever made. It is about time humor was used properly in politics.

I hope this is in the text books some day (yes - we political dorks study campaign commercials. check out this site http://livingroomcandidate.movingimage.us/index.php) It is right up there with "Kennedy Kennedy" for my new favorite.

I'm still laughing. :)

Homecoming at Home, Week 10...

Nov 5th 2007 2:58PM All I have to compare the crowds and their ensuing mess to is what I experienced at Ohio State. OSU is a huge campus, with plenty of dorms, but the majority of students live off campus in the residential houses surrounding main campus. All of these neighborhoods used to be occupied by families and teachers etc, (circa 1860-1960). But as the school grew it took them over. Flash forward a few decades and no one complains when parties spill into the street, parking backs up and noise ensues. We were all students or fans coming for a game.

Personally I think it is a shame current UCF students have to drive to get on campus. Better busing to and from apartments, and better pedestrian routes must be built, especially crossing the busy Alafaya Trail. And sadly, surrounding neighborhoods should be more student friendly. The more students stay in and around campus, the stronger the student life and experience. And the less chance for angry neighbors (they'll all be students!)

I easily walked 8 to 10 blocks to get on campus from my housing, and walked entirely through other student housing. I think the amazing growth, excitement and support that UCF is generating means it is only a matter of time until it too grows into not just a campus, but a community. These are certainly the growing pain years, but in a couple of decades I bet UCF will have the same big campus community like Ohio State.

Hillary's Fake Laugh...

Oct 25th 2007 10:29AM Funny how we haven't heard her laugh since. She really is trained - or programed - to respond to whatever public opinion is.

I like to think these FL poll numbers are what shut her up...

Nov 29th 2006 4:20PM well i drove part of the way. Alex left out the hyper-space driving.... snowflakes so big we felt like we were driving at light-speed. AWESOME. And i was driving for the jack knifed buses, double awesome. eventually i was too scared and let the Florida boy take over... his inability to discern reality from a video game experience allowed him to stay calm and ENJOY the ride as i sat in the passenger seat not looking and gripping the car for dear life.

Nov 8th 2006 11:39PM best advice a founding father ever gave: bang old women. "So that covering all above with a Basket, and regarding only what is below the Girdle, it is impossible of two Women to know an old from a young one."

Nov 7th 2006 12:24AM AND please think before you vote... take a few moments and google your local county registrar of voters. Read the candidate statements if you don't know anything about them, read the proposition summaries etc. Not voting for down ticket candidates simply because you don't know anything about them is poor civic activism.

If you are really too busy to spend 30 minutes online researching, call your local party headquarters and ask "who do i vote for" Hundreds of people have called me. Every once in a while I say "yes" to a Democrat... just to see if they have any idea at all. Usually they don't catch it. eh. I'm in California...
