Stock Market Thoughts...
alexrudloff.com
Jun 11th 2008 1:36PM Take a look at GLD. It's risen a ton over the last year. Sure, it's pulled back recently, but gold movement should be the inverse of the dollar movement. Scared people jump from the $ to resources. Dollar comes back, resources fall.
I'm not sure gold is the safe play right now. I've shorted the financial sector with some success.
Take a look at CHK, Chesapeake Energy. If you go to google finance, on the left, there's "Insider transactions." I love to see the insiders acquiring stock and this is a great tool Yahoo Finance has. The CEO has been buying like mad, even at prices near double 3mo ago. Pretty impressive.
Just my $0.02. =)

May 16th 2008 1:29PM I like Tarantino style, but that means you're gonna have to write yourself into the story as a bullsh*t character, then pull off B- acting. I feel like your tale deserves more. =)
T-Mobile to debut 3G as voice-only. No data. We're over it.
Engadget
Apr 30th 2008 5:33PM It allows them to have more capacity on the same spectrum. Highly doubtful that you'll see any difference in the quality of your calls unless their network was at capacity in your area.
This basically buys nothing for existing customers and allows Tmo to add more voice lines to their network.
On the bright side, at least their engineers are working with 3g technology now. The data has got to come eventually.....

Apr 3rd 2008 1:49PM I laughed, I cried, whiskey and ginger ale came out of my nose. When the burning subsided, I laughed and cried some more.
Apple Thoughts...

Jan 16th 2008 10:22AM Macbook Air looks awfully purdy. It reminds me a lot of my Lenovo
x60s and the reasons I bought it.
-No need to think, take it everywhere with it. It's tiny enough and there's plenty of battery power.
-Work from anywhere. My x60s has Verizon EV-DO built in...
So, a miss on #2. But it completely nails #1. EV-DO built in wouldn't be a mainstream option quite yet anyway. Mainstream wide
area wireless will have to wait till google is done bidding in the
spectrum auction on the 24th. ;)
On price, my notebook, which is about a year and a half old now,
would have come in at just under 2k without the docking station I
purchased that added more ports and a dvd/cd combo. The price for
their current top end models is still in that same range. That being said, I think that Apple priced the Air right on the money for what it is: for the power user, a companion machine to their primary. For the non-power user who wants to look cool and has the cash to toss around, it's spot on.
All that being said, I still think I have at least another year left in my Lenovo. =)

Let me see you Toostie Roll

Oct 4th 2007 6:53PM Customer service involves waiting. You got a problem, you'll wait to tell someone, then you'll wait for them to fix your problem...or for them to make you more frustrated.
The freakin tootsie roll is the perfect time killer. It takes time to eat and has the added bonus of giving you small doses of sugar. It's so simple and brilliant at the same time.
Go easy on the speeding tickets Gavin. We don't want to see a correlation between Amscot and Dentist visits. ;)
ComicMix has Issues...

Oct 3rd 2007 11:25AM Site really looks great. Nicely laid out and very clean. I like the podcast player as well. Great way to turn a podcast into an impulse item...and the production value is great too. The whole site leaves me wishing I was into comics. =)
