'Second Life for Teens', but Without Second Life

Oct 31st 2007 10:06PM I absolutely agree with Cyn.
They should be send a C&D, and if they continue, they should be sued.
Unless someone wants to make a "Habbo Hotel for Second Life" just for kicks. Let's see how long THAT lasts.
Resident Opinion Survey - How would you answer?
Second Life Insider
Oct 31st 2007 10:03PM The funniest part about these surveys is that I always get them after a random, totally freeze-up.
I'll be doing something, lock up totally, relog and find the survey.
It's like sending it to me crashed me.
And my answer is "worse"

Oct 30th 2007 4:27PM I like the kid avs. I know a few of them, and think they're really cool. But Di do *NOT* condone sexual ageplay. If I see that going on, I'll report it myself.
I have this feelings that the sexual ageplay crowd is going to get the kid avs banned entirely. That's not cool.
On my lot, everyone is welcome. And we watch out for each other, and everyone on it. So if I see someone cruising the lot when the kids are around, and being pedos, I'll file the abuse reports myself
My lot is safe haven for all but griefers and pedos. A sanctuary, of sorts.
Don't ban all the kid avs because of a few perverts.
Linden Lab double-bills tier for some users

Oct 29th 2007 4:44PM I'll have to. The way the TOS is written (and re-written at convenience) basically says "you have no recourse, deal with it"
And people wonder why I went back to basic and hold private land.
Bad day in SL

Oct 28th 2007 8:43PM It's a weekend, what do you expect?
I always, ALWAYS expect crappy service on weekends. I'm used to their "screw it up on Friday and go home at 5:00pm" method of doing things now.

Oct 24th 2007 7:40PM "You can totally legitimately argue that we let SLBoutique stagnate after we bought it, but we've been actively developing the Shop OnRez service, so I don't think that is fair."
Yes. Yes, it is.
Unless you bought it to kill the competition.

Linden Lab: No plans to bump land prices this year
Second Life Insider
Oct 10th 2007 4:22AM "...if Linden Lab suddenly needed a cash influx before then...".
I think they're finally starting to realize that a quick one-month profit isn't worth losing 10% of your large-scale, paying customers.
Wanna raise tier fees by 50%? Expect to see at least 10% of private sim owners to just say "screw this" and sell out.
NOBODY who owns a private sim can compete with rental property on mainland, financially. The ONLY reason they're able to continue is because renting on mainland sucks so badly, with crappy covenants and ad-farms every 32m.
I rent on private sims because it's nicer. I should have to pay 100% more because I do so.
Want to keep rolling out new land and bottoming out the rental markets? Lower tier feels to match it. There's no reason to keep bottoming out land values AND increase tier fees on top of it, unless you really feel like trying to drive private owners out of business.
And considering the numbers lately, on how many people join, and how many current landowners buy lindens to pay the tier fees, I think it's time to pay attention to the EXISTING customers for a change.
STOP rolling out mainland. START laying down, on paper, what rules are to be followed and what aren't. This "it's a violation when we see it, because we'd 'know' what a violation is" is just crap. Put your rules down on paper. No ambiguousness here. Stop stringing us along like idiots.
But then we do keep on paying.........
Maybe they've got a point.
SL slows to a grind.

Oct 6th 2007 1:34AM As usual, screwing things up on a Friday to leave us screwed over the weekend.
No wonder I'm not making any money at my business.
Thanks guys, you did it yet again.
