Dec 21st 2007 6:36PM @Marah - that's the Point of The Point. It's collective action, it's people getting together for a collective voice that is stronger than just one voice alone.

Dec 21st 2007 4:15PM Jason, funny you should write this - it's what company I now work at does. It's getting a bunch of people together to affect change, but not just the "company x sucks" but an action followed by the sucks.

So, if Cigna sucks - and x number of people agree and sign up on a campaign on The Point, if you reach a tipping point, you all spring into some sort of action (decided by the organizer of the campaign).

Mar 11th 2007 9:34PM I keep losing weight in SF. Down 2 1/2 inches the past few months.

Does this make me the anti-fat blogger? I still want to lose more, though.

Dec 30th 2006 8:17PM I actually referenced your speech at BBS06 for my post on the situtation, but disagree with you slightly (it's not all black and white), but also agree that bloggers have an obligation to be transparent and open with their readers.

Yes, I send and have sent out product to bloggers - usually with the clearcut understanding that they send it back (hence the inclusion of FedEx slips in a past gig).

Usually, though, when we see such bad programs it's from marketing and advertising firms that are used to buying reviews. PR should and does know better, and that's the worst part of this whole thing. PR has been doing traditional review programs for years, and there is not that wink-wink, nudge-nudge to journalists and reviewers to keep the products (or at least, I never experienced it).

That's the question.
